Of animals and humans

We produced two films for the Marshallese NGO RMI Love Animals. This NGO advocates for the humane treatment of animals, particularly the estimated 8,000 wild dogs on the capital atoll of Majuro. While there are voices within the local political spectrum that advocate for their mass culling, “RMI Love Animals” shoulders the effort and expense of flying veterinarians to RMI as volunteers, who, along with many local helpers, perform widespread sterilizations—a task that, as you can imagine, is difficult, bloody, and brave. It is also much more constructive because it represents an approach to reliably and long-term population control.

The first film is aimed at Marshallese politicians and interested adults. It will soon be shown in Parliament (Nitijela). The second film is a children’s film and will be used in schools and kindergartens.
