Mark Uriona was born in 1975. He learned how to walk in Mozambique and was raised in East Germany. During an exchange year in the U.S.A., a very special person lent him an old Nikomat that he has never given back. Uriona went nuts on photography. But he did not believe that it could earn any bread.

He studied law and worked as a research consultant for a member of the German federal parliament. He came to write speeches, essays, newspaper articles, and has learned the business of politics, which he has never come to like.

With Chris Fischer he founded the “Kameradists” in 2011. Uriona was a member of the editorial staff of the “Prague Spring Magazine”, has worked for “Geo Season”, the project “Bosnian voices” and the Helmholtz Association and is publishing a selection of his photographs on www.kameradist-wagner.de

Jobina Diez, born 1996 in Bremen, lives, studies, and has been working in Berlin since 2016. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in Social and Cultural Anthropology and Political Science at Freie Universität Berlin with the ethnographic documentary movie “tany masina”. She created the movie in collaboration with “Atelier Donné Vy”, an arts and crafts workspace in Ankazobe-Alasora, an outlying district of Madagascar’s capital Antananarivo. The documetary provides insights into the workspace’s philosophy of work and life, and critically examines the concept of “development”. After several long-term stays in Madagascar, as well as a study visit to La Réunion, Jobina continues to focus on the Indian Ocean region at the intersection of film, research, and activism, and language politics in postcolonial social settings in her Master’s degree at Viadrina University. She joined Kameradist*innen in February 2021, where she has since been involved in various aspects of film production and organization.
